Highlights of 2011
Scouts from various groups within the district, joined with many others from around Hampshire at the 2011 County Scout camp at Buddens camp site. Along with the many traditional Scout activities, which included, backwards cooking, pioneering and wide games. The Scouts visited Lyndhurst and also went swimming at Romsey Rapids. The groups invited the camp leaders to join them for an evening meal cooked by the Scouts themselves.
Cubs from Basingstoke East had a train and ferry ride to visit Brownsea Island. Whilst on the Island the Cubs saw the site of the very first Scout camp that Robert Baden-Powell held in 1907. Some of the cubs even saw some red Squirrels. Before departing for home they all had a trip around the Island on the ferry and then stopped for Fish and Chips at Poole.
