This 4 day event taking place in February 2023 half term will see Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from across Basingstoke East off on an adventure to Disneyland Paris. The event is open to all groups within Basingstoke East. If you’d like your child to join this event please sign up directly with your group.

Our initial registration for this event has now closed. We are able to continue adding participants whilst our accommodation has availability for us.

What’s Included?

The cost of this event includes the following:

  • Return travel from Basingstoke by coach and ferry
  • 3 nights hotel accomodation
  • 2 days in Disneyland Parks
  • A trip into Paris
  • All meals (except first packed lunch)
  • Travel Insurance
  • Event Hoodie
  • International Necker

How much is it?

The maximum cost of this trip is £475 per participant and includes all the above.

By maximum cost this means this is the most we will charge for the event. We are working to reduce this cost but that is very dependent on the number of participants. If possible we will reduce this before the final payment.

We are able to offer payment plans for this event to help you spread the cost of this, please see our payments section below as these may differ depending when you registered to attend. All participants pay the same total regardless of registration date. 

Itinerary

Day 1

We will have an early start before travelling by coach and ferry to our hotel right by Disneyland Paris. Groups will have the chance to make use of the hotel facilities such as the pirate themed swimming pool before a full buffet dinner.

Day 2

It’s our first day in the Disneyland Paris parks. After a full buffet breakfast to get us going for the day we will enjoy the day enjoy rides, parades, shows and fireworks. It will be a late one with dinner in the park.

Day 3

A second full day in the Disneyland Paris parks. We will enjoy more rides, parades, shows and fireworks. With another late night to make the most of ours day.

Day 4

After breakfast we will take our coach into Paris and enjoy some of the day exploring Paris.

We’ll then board the coach for the journey back to Basingstoke with a late arrival.

How much is the event and what are the payments?

The event has a maximum cost of £475.00 per participant.

Paying in full

 

If you registered before 28th February 2022, you will have been charged a £40.00 deposit by your group.

You are then invited to pay the remaining outstanding balance of £435.00 by 15th March 2022.


If you registered after the 28th Febraury 2022 you will be sent a link to pay the full balance of £475.00 within 14 days of registering.

As you are paying in full, we will be able to offer the same cancellation options as if you were paying on our monthly plan. The below table shows if you cancel before the start of the month list what you refundable amount will be.

If you registered before 28th February 2022 you’ll be on our Phase 1 payment plan. This means you’ll have been charged £40.00 deposit by your group and then have a direct debit directly with Basingstoke East Scouts for the remaining payments.

Your payment breakdown is as follows:

  • 1st March 2022 – £45.00
  • 1st April 2022 – £45.00
  • 1st May 2022 – £45.00
  • 1st June 2022 – £45.00

    If you registered between 1st March and 15th April 2022 you’ll be on our Phase 2 payment plan. This means your group will charge you the deposit within 7 days of registering and you’ll then be invited to set up your direct debit directly with us.

    • Deposit – £130.00
    • 1st May 2022 – £45.00
    • 1st June 2022 – £45.00
    • 1st July 2022 – £45.00
    • 1st August 2022 – £45.00
    • 1st September 2022 – £45.00

        How do I sign up?

        Who can attend the trip?
        • All participants must be born on or before 12thFebruary 2015.
        • All participants must be aged under at the end of the event.
        • All participants must be a member of a Cub pack, Scout troop or Explorer unit within Basingstoke East at the time of the event (list of groups on next question)
        • All participants will need a valid passport to attend the event.
        • All participants will need a free EHIC or GHIC card for the event.
        What groups are eligible to attend?

        The following groups are within Basingstoke East District and therefore eligible to attend the event:

        • 1st Basingstoke (Trinity)
        • 2nd Basingstoke (Sherfield Park)
        • 6th Basingstoke (Oakridge) – Not attending directly, please register below to attend
        • 8th Basingstoke (U.R.C)
        • 11th Basingstoke (St Michael’s)
        • 1st Chineham
        • 1st Popley
        • Basingstoke Air Scouts
        • Bramley Scout Group – Not attending directly, please register below to attend
        • Old Basing Scout Group
        • Dragons Explorer Scout Unit

        At present we are expecting attendance from most of our groups, however don’t worry you can still attend even if your group is not coming directly. Any young person who meets the criteria in Basingstoke East can attend the trip. Simply register below and we will be in touch. We have many leaders attending and will be able to accommodate all young people who would like to attend.

        What does the insurance cover?

        The insurance is included in the cost and will cover the following:

        • Medical treatment
        • Emergency repatriation expenses
        • Travel delays
        • Cash held by the group/event team
        • Lost passport

        The insurance does not cover cancellation of the trip by you. You will need to ensure you are covered on your own policy for this.

        My Group isn't going, can I still go?

        Yes!

        This event is open to all young people across Basingstoke East. You can apply directly on this page and we will get in touch. Depending on numbers we will likely get all those without their group leaders together before the event to meet each other or we will introduce you to another group.

        I don't know all the leaders attending, who are the adults

        This event is being run by Basingstoke East District, however leaders from most of our groups will be attending the event. All adults on this event will be required to have a valid disclosure (criminal record check) and have fully completed their safeguarding training.

        Event Registration

        The best way to register for this event is directly with you Cub, Scout or Explorer Section. However you can also enter you details here and we will register you with your group to attend and ask them to get in touch regarding your deposit payment of £40.00. You will need to complete this form for each attendee.
